Kirishima – The birthplace of THE MATCHA CLUB, blessed with water and air

Highest-grade stone-ground first flush matcha (details page)

As its name suggests, Kirishima is enveloped in a veil of fog due to daily temperature fluctuations.

This fog acts as a curtain against the sunlight, moderately suppressing bitterness while nurturing tea leaves rich in umami-boosting theanine.

Spring water from Kirishima, counted among Japan's 100 best waters.

Rich in calcium bicarbonate, calcium ions, magnesium ions, and sodium ions, this famous water is slightly hard yet refreshingly smooth on the throat.

MATCHA Lab stores this spring water for cultivation at its tea plantations. We don't even use tap water.

In fact, Kirishima tea, blessed with excellent water and climate, has won first place at the "National Tea Competition" for three consecutive years.

A scene of hand-picking tea leaves. We thoroughly practice organic farming and carefully remove insects daily.

MATCHA Lab's matcha, committed to complete organic cultivation, is meticulously crafted by the heaven, earth, and people of Kirishima.
